Star Wars Celebrations 2016

Nearly forgot about our small trip out to London to celebrate Star Wars in style! Twas a semi-surprise birthday excursion for my husband's 33 birthday!

We stayed at the Hilton in Islington, near to St. Pancras station. The room was pretty big with a nice walk-in shower.

We only had time (and money) for one day of Star Wars Celebration so Sunday was our day. We spent quite a while waiting for the venue to open.

By the time they began letting patrons in, it was already too late to check out the Rogue One panel as it was already "sold out" so we opted for the Carrie Fisher and Ray Park panels instead. Carrie was completely down to earth and entertaining and I feel truly lucky that I got to be in the same room as her.

We had some time to spare before the next panel, but not much. Here you'll see acclaimed Star Wars illustrator Matt Busch. He's a very well known name in the industry as he's illustrated countless titles. I really would have liked to have bought something and had him autograph it.

I could definitely get behind owning a TIE fighter.

The husband and I both play Star Wars: The Old Republic game and we enjoyed the "get together" they hosted later in the day.

So many astromech droids!

A rare photo event: Kylo Ren vs Darth Revan.

Death Trooper from Rogue One.

Sand Trooper from Rogue One.

LEGO BB-8, Rey and R2-D2.

And for something a little different: Spaceballs! Apparently she's half woman, half dog. She's her own best friend. And since I can't post anything beneath this because Blogger is an arsehole, that's it for our small Star Wars adventure! Until next time!
